Transferring works of art is extremely complex:they are fragile, priceless and, often, huge.
It is the very high degree of specialisation that has allowed Gondrand to make a name in the transport of such delicate precious objects.It has staff and means specialising in transport, set up, storage and joinery, which guarantee impeccable logistics.
Gondrand has been synonymous with quality and professionalism in the art scene since 1866, thanks to the transfer of important works of art and the organisation of exhibitions of international renown.
The transport of the Axum obelisque from Ethiopia to Rome in the 30s and Michelangelo’s Pietà from the Vatican to New York in the 50s are two unforgettable events.
Two of the definitely demanding more recent transportations of note are the setting up of the "La terra dei Maoi dalla Polinesia all'isola di Pasqua (The Land of the Maoi from Polynesia to Easter Island)" exhibition at the Royal Palace in Milan, which was rich in important finds, including an 8 ton original statue, and the setting up of the Biennale di Venezia.
